SMALL-BATCH 3D PRINTING
ORBITA / LIGHT · DESIGN · ATMOSPHERE
Distinctive 3D-printed lighting that brings warmth, mood and character to everyday spaces.
ORBITA / DESIGN · TECHNOLOGY · CRAFT
Orbita creates sculptural objects and lighting for modern spaces. We use digital design and 3D printing to explore form, texture and light in a way traditional mass production often cannot.
Every piece is considered from the first model to the final finish — designed to bring more warmth, character and atmosphere into the everyday.
HOW IT'S MADE
3D printing is not the end of the design process — it is the tool that lets us turn an idea into a real object with control over proportion, texture and detail.
Each piece begins as a 3D model. We refine the silhouette, proportions, surface and function before anything is printed.
The printer builds the form in fine layers, translating the digital model into a physical object with its own distinctive texture.
After printing, pieces are checked, assembled where required and carefully finished before they are packed and sent out.
WHAT IS 3D PRINTING?
3D printing is an additive manufacturing process that turns a digital model into a physical object one fine layer at a time. It gives us freedom to explore shapes, curves and textures that can be difficult to produce with conventional tooling.
For Orbita, that means we can prototype, refine and produce in smaller runs or on demand — without needing the scale of traditional mass manufacturing.
Designs can move from digital model to prototype without traditional mould tooling.
We can make thoughtfully in smaller quantities and respond to what people actually want.
Complex geometry, ribbed textures and sculptural forms become part of the design language.
MATERIALS / PLA
Most Orbita 3D-printed pieces are made with PLA, a plant-derived bioplastic selected for its clean finish, dimensional detail and suitability for digital small-batch production.
PLA is commonly produced from fermented plant sugars, with renewable feedstocks that can include corn or sugarcane. The exact agricultural source can vary between filament manufacturers and batches.
Plant-derived does not mean impact-free. We focus on thoughtful design, digital prototyping, small-run production and avoiding unnecessary inventory wherever practical.
